So…a friend told me about this place that has pretty good food (for take out anyways.) More on that later… Anyways… we hopped on to the car and checked it out.

The ordering process is quite simple; just choose which item you want and then order when the owner comes up to you. I say owner because the whole joint is basically ran by a family.

Quality of the food was decent. Price is a little steep though. $10 after tax and tips for a bowl of noodles!?
Service? Well…there really isn’t much service. They bring you the food and check(simultaneously). Oh ya…they ask you if you want more tea (once.) Tables are clean, pretty good presentation and all. Basically a pretty standard restaurant right?

Well, except for 1 thing. You have to follow their rules.
1. They only open for lunch. If you look at the menu you will see that they only open 11:30am to 3:00pm. Ya…no breakfast no dinner. (You eat when they feel like serving you.) So if you wake up in the morning craving for some noodles you’re outta luck buddy.
2. Notice the sign that says “No book & newspaper reading, please?” (You eat and you leave.)
I heard the owner actually comes and yells at you if you even attempt to read or take up his valuable space by taking too long. (Shrewd businessman at work here I tell ya)
A somewhat unique experience. I’ve never chucked down noodles so fast in my life.
And probably the first time I’ve seen a sign like this at a restaurant in LA…
The rules are not awfully out of line… But considering the fact that I am the one giving them money I just think that I shouldn’t feel remotely like I am in prison.
Will you eat at a restaurant where you have to follow their rules?
